Hi!
Hannah Miller is an illustrator, fine artist, and graphic designer from Auburn Hills, Michigan. They use painting, drawing, printmaking, and bookmaking to explore what it means to craft a cogent identity in a post-information world.
Hannah’s practice references stop motion filmography and picture books in its effort to playfully transform traditional artmaking materials into whimsical microcosms occupied by curious, translucent strangers. The work views the act of drawing and painting as analogous to the act of performance- a technique studied and honed overtime until it appears to convincingly portray reality.
They have exhibited their work at the Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center gallery in Birmingham, Michigan and SCENE Metrospace and the Kresge Art Center galleries in East Lansing, Michigan. Hannah’s animation in collaborative projects has been featured in film festivals including Short to The Point, Flickfair, and International Short Film Festival Kalmthout. Hannah holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Michigan State University and an MFA in Print Media from Cranbrook Academy of Art.
When they're not working on a project they enjoy animated movies, their cats, and doodling on every available surface
